Dec. 23, 1920

Walter Dickinson has about finished his ice harvest, which was commenced last week, from the Stearns pond four miles west of town. About 150 tons of first class ice was put up.

The community Christmas tree for Friday evening will be an assured success and a big attendance is looked for. The various committees report details well along toward completion. A splendid program of music and recitations has been prepared, and a wireless from St. Nick has been received to the effect that he is on his way.

The discovery of a vein of good marketable coal on Donkey creek, near Gillette, promises to add much to the activity and revenue of that hustling city.

Dec. 20, 1945

At the regular meeting of the town council in Sundance last Monday night the council voted unanimously to accept $35,000 from the R.E.A. for the Sundance light plant subject to a voter of the people. Mayor Durfee advised the Times Tuesday that before a vote will be taken it will be necessary that the R.E. A. program in Crook county be assured.

Pouring of the cement for the floor of the new Chittim Motor building in Sundance was begun Tuesday of this week and Charles Chittim, owner of the new structure, said Monday that he expected to have the building open and doing business January 1, 1946.

Dec. 24, 1970

The Tri-county board of directors held a reorganization meeting following the Annual Member’s Meeting at which time officers were elected for the coming year. Officers elected were the same as the past year: Carl Mayer, President; Christy Smith, Vice-President; and Charlie Peterson, Secretary-Treasurer.

Garvice Roby, Sundance, Wyoming Game and Fish Department game biologist is in a Rapid City hospital after being injured Thursday night in a snowmobile accident in the Bear Lodge. He was to receive surgery Monday in St. John’s Hospital.
