EWC outreach presents the "Horsemeat March" and Slim Buttes Battle

Discover one of history’s less well known events with a free class hosted by the Eastern Wyoming College Outreach Community Education Program. On October 27, Tim Velder will introduce the “Horsemeat March” to Deadwood and the 1876 Slim Buttes Battle.

Following the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876, Native American and U.S. Cavalry forces scattered across the northern Great Plains to resolve the ongoing conflict. Forces led by U.S. General George Crook and Sioux warrior Crazy Horse classed at the Slim Buttes in northwestern South Dakota.
