Board candidates confirmed for general election

At the general election this November 3, voters will be asked to decide who will fill numerous seats on local boards of trustees, including the school, museum, natural resource, senior services and medical services districts.

School

Four trustees for Crook County School District are up for election this year. Brian Neiman and Shane Wolf will compete for the Hulett area trustee seat, while Thayne Gray will run unopposed to regain his Moorcroft area seat.

Two seats are up for election in the Sundance area. Heith Waddell will stand for re-election, while Dave Jagemann will run to secure the second seat.

All successful candidates will serve four-year terms.

Medical

Three seats will appear on the ballot for Crook County Medical Services District, representing Hulett, Moorcroft and Sundance. Incumbent Connie Lindmier will run for the Hulett seat, while Ed Ray – who was appointed by the board to replace Joey Kanode upon his resignation earlier this year – will stand for the Moorcroft seat.

Incumbent Mark Erickson will defend his Sundance seat against challenger Brent Fowler.

All successful candidates will serve four-year terms.

Senior Services

Two candidates are running to serve on the Crook County Senior Citizens Service District. Bonnie Beaudoin and Marcia Havner will both appear on the ballot.

Three four-year terms are up for election. No candidate has filed for the third seat, which will likely be filled via write-in ballot.

Museum

Four candidates will compete for three seats on the Crook County Museum District’s board of trustees, each to serve a four-year term. Candidates include incumbent Neal Gray, Pam Thompson, Peggy Howard and Melanie Wilmer.

All successful candidates will serve four-year terms.

Natural Resource

Four seats are up for election for the Crook County Natural Resource District. Wayne Garman will run to retain his seat as a rural member, while incumbent Lily Altaffer will stand for the at-large seat.

No candidate has filed for the urban seat. All three of these positions are four-year terms.

Kim Fundaun will run to fill the fourth position, an unexpired two-year rural seat.
