Making light of the holidays

Sundance welcomed Christmas this weekend with a slew of festivities. Above, the FFA float travels along Main Street during the annual Festival of Lights, arranged by Dorothy Greenwood and sponsored by the Sundance Chamber of Commerce. The FFA entry was awarded Best Use of Theme, which this year was “Old Time Family Christmas”. The float was one of 13 bright and cheerful entries. The winners this year also included the VFW for Best Business or Organization and Powder River Energy for Most Unique. Other events held during the Christmas kick-off included the Festival of Wreaths silent auction, sponsored by the Crook County Library. The auction was held directly after the parade and was accompanied by the Crook County EMTs’ annual chili feed fundraiser. Small Business Saturday and Ladies’ Night also took place, having been postponed due to weather.
