Blood donors welcome to join SHS students in saving lives

Sundance High School is hosting a blood drive for Vitalant on Wednesday, November 13 from 9 a.m. to noon in the high school auditorium. Vitalant, one of the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit community blood service providers, supplies comprehensive transfusion medicine services to nearly 1000 hospitals and health care partners for patients in need across 40 states.

The goal is 18 donations, which requires 26 appointments. Sixteen- and 17-year-old donors must have a Minor Donor Consent Form signed by a parent to donate.

If you plan to donate, make sure you eat within two hours of your donation. Drink plenty of water that day and 24-28 hours beforehand. Vitalant asks that you bring your blood donor ID card or photo ID with your full legal name.

For more information or to get a Minor Donor Consent Form please, contact Mary Jayne Jordan in the Sundance High School library or [email protected]. To schedule an appointment please see the Sundance High School Facebook page.
