Colorado man sentenced for meth possession

A Colorado man pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine after being pulled over on the interstate earlier this year and has received a suspended sentence.

On May 19, a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper was advised of a possibly impaired driver traveling west on the interstate. He observed the vehicle at milepost 170 and conducted a traffic stop for speeding at 86 mph in an 80 mph zone.

The driver was identified as William Beeching and the trooper determined that his driver’s license was declined from the State of Colorado. The trooper was also advised of an active extradition arrest warrant for Beeching.

Beeching was placed under arrest and transported to the Crook County Detention Facility. An inventory of the vehicle turned up a felony amount of suspected meth in a red plastic container.

Beeching pled guilty to one felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to between four and six years of incarceration, suspended pending the successful completion of five years of probation.
