This Week at Your Library

The library will be closed on Monday, October 14, for Columbus Day.

Falls are the leading cause of death in older adults. Here are some things you can do to help decrease your chance of falls: 1. Wear cotton socks or socks with rubber grippers on the bottom or wear shoes when indoors. 2. Avoid wearing flip-flops; these types of shoes are considered “trip hazards”. 3. Don’t step on wet surfaces, no matter how safe it looks. Put a towel down or, if possible, bypass the area entirely until it is completely dry.

Library Programming: TODDLER AND PRESCHOOL STORYTIME on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. October’s themes: “Cowboys/Cowgirls and Their Horses”, “Fossils/Dig Into Reading”, “Firefighters” and “Halloween”. MAKER FRIDAY AT THE LIBRARY: Friday, October 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. for Kindergarten through sixth grades. ADULT CRAFT NIGHT: Monday, October 21, at 6 p.m., come and make a Wooden Serving Tray for your holiday gatherings. The fee is $20 and sign up is required by Friday, October 18. Adults only! UFOs AT THE LIBRARY: the last Monday of each month at 6 p.m. Bring any UnFinished Object to the library and work on it here. We have lots of space, outlets, and camaraderie!
