Homecoming 2019

Teddi Marchant and Craig Chandler were crowned as this year’s Homecoming Royalty on Monday evening before a crowd of students and parents in the Sundance High School auditoriuam. Master of Ceremony Ms. Jennifer Jungwirth announced the results of the vote after first introducing Mrs. Whitney Cundy, guest speaker.

Cundy reminded the kids of the student council’s new mantra of “everybody being there for everybody” and told the seniors to make the most of every “last” they encountered during this final year of school.

Marchant and Chandler were joined on the stage by court members Molly Amann, Joleen Pollat, Kye Taylor and Josiah Rudloff as they blessed the football, volleyball, golf club, cross country shoe and cheerleader pompom. Crown bearers this year were Hartley Steel and Jax Franzen, who raised smiles from the audience when they introduced some confusion concerning which royalty cloak belonged to which royal.

The ceremony was followed by the traditional burning of the “S”. The week’s events continued with Junior High Volleyball at Sage Valley on Tuesday and will include the Homecoming Parade at 2 p.m. on Thursday, followed by Junior High Football at Deadwood at 4 p.m.

Join the fun this Homecoming week with volleyball against Newcastle beginning at 2 pm. Friday and football against Wright at 7 p.m. The cross country team will also compete against Wright at 10 a.m. on Saturday, followed by volleyball at Buffalo against Powell at 2 p.m.
