Myra Clingan

Myra (Clark) Clingan, 96, of Sundance, Wyoming, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at Crook County Long Term Health Care.

Myra was born on February 8, 1923 at Inyan Kara, Wyoming, to Nathan S. and Hilma (Peterson) Clark. She was the seventh of nine children born to the couple.

Myra grew up on the family ranch and attended the Burns School and Sundance High School. She married Harry Clingan on May 15, 1942, in Sundance. After residing in Sundance, they moved to Upton, Wyoming. They raised seven children and then enjoyed all the grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Raymond Clingan of Kingwood, Texas, Ed (Yong) Clingan of Helena, Montana and Joe Clingan of Gillette, Wyoming; four daughters, Evelyn Frieze of Spearfish, South Dakota, Theresa (Rick) Benavidez of Sundance, Cathy (Cliff) Dowdy of Rozet, Wyoming and Becky (Randy) Ernster of Rapid City, South Dakota; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, and granddaughter, Melody Burrell.

Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial were Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at St Paul Catholic Church in Sundance. Burial followed at Inyan Kara Cemetery.
