Summer rec begins

School is out and summer is here, bringing with it the annual opportunities for young members of the Sundance community to stretch their legs and learn new skills with friends. From soccer to arts and crafts, there will be something for every child over the long vacation.

T-ball will be open to kids aged four or five until June 27, with practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the high school field from 1 to 2 p.m. Coach pitch t-ball for ages six and seven will take place at the same time and place.

Soccer will be divided into two age groups. For kindergarten through third grade, practice will be on Wednesdays from 1 to 2 p.m.; practice for fourth through seventh grades will follow from 2 to 3 p.m.

Basketball will be held on July 2, 11, 16, 18 and 23 at the central gym and will be divided into three age groups. Kindergarten through second grade will be held at 1 to 2 p.m., third through fifth grade from 2 to 3 p.m. and sixth through eighth grade from 3 to 4 p.m.

Volleyball will also be held at the central gym on Mondays until July 1. Kindergarten through third grade will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., fourth and fifth grades from 2 to 3 p.m. and sixth to ninth grades from 3 to 4 p.m.

Volleyball camp will be held on July 8 to 10.

Arts and crafts with Cindy Lambert will be open to first through seventh grades and will be held from 9 to 10:15 a.m. and 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. on July 8 to 11 and July 15 to 18.
