PRECorp rebuild project commences

Public invited to pre-construction open house June 13

The Powder River Energy members in Sundance will see power line construction activity this summer, and some planned outages as contractors rebuild the electrical infrastructure in town.

PRECorp engineers have been working with members for the past several months ironing out the pre-construction details. Schulte TA is the project contractor.

Workers will replace aging infrastructure through the alleys all over town. The infrastructure update will carry modern construction standards of reliability and serving future demand. Some existing underground wire will also be replaced.

The 2019 work (shown in blue on illustration) will cover the area of Sundance north of alley south of Cleveland Street, plus the Sundance Country Club, Crook County Fairgrounds, and Sundance school buildings. Next year, work will generally involve the area south of Cleveland Street. (In yellow on illustration.)

An open house is scheduled for 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at the PRECorp Office in Sundance. PRECorp officials will be available to answer questions on the scope of the project, time frames, the process for planned outages, along with answering any specific questions from members regarding the project near their homes or business.

For more information on the project contact PRECorp at 1-800-442-3630.
