Colorado man charged with meth possession

A Colorado man has been bound over to District Court on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine. William Beeching also faces extradition to Colorado on additional drug-related charges.

On May 19, a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper was advised of a possibly impaired driver traveling west on the interstate. He observed the vehicle at milepost 170 and conducted a traffic stop for speeding at 86 mph in an 80 mph zone.

The driver was identified as Beeching and the trooper determined that his drivers license was declined from the State of Colorado. The trooper was also advised of an active extradition arrest warrant for Beeching.

Beeching was placed under arrest and transported to the Crook County Detention Facility. An inventory of the vehicle turned up a felony amount of suspected meth in a red plastic container.

Beeching has been charged with possession of a controlled substance in an amount greater than 3 grams, a felony carrying a maximum penalty of seven years’ incarceration, a $15,000 fine or both. He has signed an extradition waiver consenting to return to Weld County to face charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
