Local veterans groups to hold Memorial Day ceremony

The local chapters of the VFW and American Legion will hold a short Memorial Day ceremony on May 27 to honor the memory of our county’s and our nation’s fallen warriors. The ceremony will be held at the Crook County War Memorial, on the northwest corner of the Crook County Courthouse square, starting at 2:30 p.m.

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has signed a proclamation asking for the observance of The National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. The ceremony will be designed around this moment. A couple of speakers and “Taps” will complete the program.

This ceremony will be held regardless of weather, so please plan to attend and bring an umbrella as showers are expected throughout the day. Bring chairs if you would like a place to sit. For more information contact Barry Floyd, 307-267-1664.
