Spring cleaning? You could also be Country Junkin'

Chambers of Commerce across the county have teamed up to create a brand new event: the Country Junkin’ Weekend, a countywide opportunity for residents to get rid of the unwanted items turned up during their annual spring clean.

Residents who would like to sign up as a vendor will need to submit their applications by March 28.

Scheduled for June 7 to 9, the Country Junkin’ Weekend was conceived as an annual occurrence on the second weekend of the month. The chambers hope to attract visitors to the area while also allowing avid collectors to share their treasures and combining the yard and garage sales that tend to punctuate the summer months in this area.

A comprehensive directory will be published listing all the vendors and events on the route, which will encompass the Beulah, Aladdin, Alva, Hulett, Devils Tower, Pine Haven, Carlile, Moorcroft and Sundance communities.

The chambers advise that there are several businesses and individuals that could be willing to host your both and that vendors may need to check with local officials to see if a permit is needed. Nonprofits and groups of individuals are encouraged to set up combined vendor locations.

The $10 entry fee includes a yard sale sign indicating that you are a participant as well as a listing in the directory.

Applications are available at Compass Trading & Auctions in Hulett (290-2330), from Sheryl Klocker in Sundance (290-0102) and at Gifts, Thrifts & Ifts in Moorcroft (406-208-8840). Enquiries may be directed to Darlene Coder on 290-2330.
