American Legion Auxiliary announces Poppy Poster winners

Roy Montgomery Unit 80, American Legion Auxiliary (ALA), is pleased to announce this year's winners for the annual Poppy Poster Contest. Class III: Aspen Jones (Sundance), 1st place; Rylie Marchant (Sundance), 2nd place; Jordan Mouat (Sundance) and Abigail Palus (Hulett), 3rd place tie. Class II: Brooklyn Bough (Hulett), 1st place. Class IV: Faith Anderson (Virtual Academy), 1st place; Cassandra Palus (Hulett), 2nd place.

The purpose of the ALA Poppy program is "to honor veterans for their service and sacrifice by promoting and educating all people of the Poppy's history and the financial benefit realized by our nation's veterans as a result of its distribution."

Chair of the Unit 80 Poppy Poster program is Loretto Preuss, Hulett, and sub-chairs are Janet Lake, Sundance and Winnie Bush, Hulett.

The posters will be on display for two weeks at the libraries.
