It's not just about the financial help, says Joni Spaulding of Bearlodge Bakery and Greenhouse. The eatery has been hosting a cookie fundraiser this week just as much to show its beneficiary, Shirley Conway, that the community loves, supports and is thinking of her.

With a batch snapped up by Sundance State Bank before the week even began, Spaulding's goal of 1000 cookies sold to support Conway in her time of need seemed more than possible. Spaulding used Conway's own recipe cookie to create the treats and asked supporters to post photos and messages on Conway's Facebook timeline.
