Dig out those long johns...

FYF on again this year

In Sundance, Superbowl Sunday has more than one meaning. Before battle begins on our television screens, the city will once again play host to the chilliest fundraiser of the year: the Freeze Your Fanny run/walk.

Starting and ending at the courthouse on Cleveland Street, the event will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. on February 4. Walkers will get started at 8 a.m., followed by runners an hour later.

"Breakfast, a collectible FYF long-sleeved T-shirt, door prizes and more can all be yours by signing up on Active.com or on race day morning," says Cayla Watson.

"All proceeds go to the Sundance High School Cross Country Team."

The cost for entry for participants includes breakfast and a long-sleeved t-shirt. Organizers recommend registering on active.com before January 25 to be guaranteed a t-shirt that fits as there may not be enough to go around for those who register on the morning of the run.

"Breakfast will be available from 7:30-10 a.m.," says Watson. "If you're not participating, but want to sit inside and stay warm, breakfast is $5 and all proceeds go to the Sundance High School Student Council."

Awards will be handed out for the first three participants to finish, the top two in each age group and also for the best cold-themed costumes. Door prizes have also been donated by local businesses.
