Mayor, council sworn in

City Attorney Mark Hughes administers the oath of office to Brad Marchant, Paul Brooks and Callie Hilty during Wednesday's council meeting.

The Sundance City Council began the year with an open seat to fill, which was achieved through a council appointment. After Callie Hilty was selected for the position, she was sworn in to serve the first regular meeting of her term.

The council also approved additional appointments for the year, including Brad Marchant as mayor pro tempore Marchant is the senior councilman in 2019, said Mayor Paul Brooks.

The Sundance Times was once again appointed as the official newspaper for the city and Sundance State Bank as the official repository.

The city's department heads were all reappointed: Kathy Lenz as Clerk Treasurer, Marty Noonan as Chief of Police and Mac Erickson as Public Works Director. Erickson will now also serve as the city's Zoning Officer.

Mark Hughes Law Office will continue to serve as City Attorney, Francis E. Stevens as Municipal Judge, Chris Tomford as Fire Chief and Trihydro as City Engineers.

Housing authority will be Christy Palmer, Carol Maddox Reed, Dick Davis, Diane Marshall, Sue Furman and Evergreen Management of Spearfish. The Land Use Planning Committee will consist of Amanda Miller, Bonnie Beaudoin, Joe Lambert, Lonnie Galloway and an as-yet-unnamed replacement for Hilty.

The Rec Board will include Andrea Humphrey, Shelby Gill and Jill Mackie and the Clarenbaugh Park Committee will be Cheryl Wales, Sally Rogers and Deb Davis. Steve Lenz will continue to represent Sundance on the Crook County Promotion Board and Cindy Lambert and Charlie Jones will comprise the Community Development Loan Board.
