Dorothy Terry, an 88-year-old Sundance, Wyoming resident went home to her final resting place, January 2, 2019, at the Legacy Center in Gillette, Wyoming. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation in memory of her late husband, John, in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo, Wyoming. Online condolences may be made at http://www.harnessfuneralhome.com

Dorothy Grace Terry was born September 23, 1930, in Sheridan, Wyoming and was adopted by her loving parents, Harry and Catherine Forsyth. She grew up in Buffalo, where she met the love of her life, John C. Terry.

They were married 55 years before John passed away. To this union two daughters were born, Christine and Cathy.

Dorothy will be remembered for the smile on her face and the jokes that she loved to share. She and John owned John C. Terry Plumbing for over 45 years. She was known as a lady plumber, as she could cut and thread pipe and solve almost any plumbing problem, up until her last days.

One of the things she will be remembered for is the donations that were made by them for the Buffalo City Swimming Pool. They donated all the plumbing for the bath houses and money was donated from Dorothy selling her chances on a "shiny new Lincoln". She would collect a dollar per chance and then give them a shiny new penny. Over $800 was collected for the pool.

A big part of her life was being a grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Her grandchildren remember her saying to always look your best because you never know who you may meet, her Tangee lipstick kisses, to stay out of Grandpa's tapioca pudding and her 6 a.m. birthday calls.

In Sundance she was affectionately referred to as "the orneriest old broad in Sundance" and the "old grey mare".

Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter, Cathy (Bill) Sherrard; granddaughters, Keri (Kevin) Cotman, Joni (Tim) Harrington, Kodi (Bart) Majors; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John; her daughter, Christine; and her mother and father.
