The Sundance golf team teed off their fall season in Sheridan and Newcastle this past week, participating in the Kendrick and Upton Invites. Sundance's pickleball enthusiasts are still keen to see the city's courts rehabilitated to create a better play environment for the growing group of local players who utilize it. Jim O’Connor (Sundance) and Mike Daley (Big Horn) have been selected as Wyoming’s Wooden Legacy Award winners for 2023. The award is presented by the National High School Basketball Coaches Association and honors John R. Wooden, a coach who devoted his life to making an impact on lives through basketball. Five kids are representing Crook County in rodeo this summer, with three of them set to compete during the seven days of the 75th National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) in Gillette. Two meanwhile headed for the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, GA this weekend for the week-long National Junior High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR). The 2023 track season came to a close this past weekend as the Sundance Bulldogs competed in the 2A State Track and Field Meet in Casper. As the track season begins to wind down, the Sundance track team was able to squeeze in the Bulldog Invitational on Friday last week. Despite the weather, the athletes were able to complete the meet before the downpours came. There were a couple Bulldogs athletes who earned top honors in their events.
