50 Years Ago, April 5, 1973 - Longtime Sundance resident Ward Cure was celebrating his 81st birthday Monday when he stopped at the Pizza Villa for coffee with some other City of Sundance employees. He ran into a pleasant surprise when he was presented with a birthday cake baked by Mrs. Alice Schloredt. Ward had no trouble in blowing out the candles. Above, he leisurely cuts a piece of cake while five-year-old Jennifer Schloredt looks on and gives him some hints on just how it should be done.
