  • Changing spaces

    Sarah Pridgeon|Nov 21, 2019

The space that only a couple of weeks ago accommodated the regular monthly meeting of the county commissioners has now been stripped to its guts – the first step in a project that will completely overhaul the room and also includes changes to the space occupied by the county clerk and her staff. Eventually, says County Clerk Linda Fritz, the renovation will provide more room for the public when in attendance at county meetings; more document storage for the commissioners; an overhauled area f...

At that time, Williamson presented plans for th...

Michael Illiano, The Sheridan Press Via Wyoming News Exchange|Nov 21, 2019

SHERIDAN — An anonymous website that purports to chart state Republican lawmakers’ adherence to the party platform has drawn criticism from Wyoming Republicans for presenting reductive and divisive characterizations of state legislators. The site, WyoRINO.com, seeks to expose “liberal Republicans” or “Republicans In Name Only” (RINO) by assigning every state legislator a score based on how their votes in the previous legislative session corresponded to the Wyoming Republican party platform. That score, however, is based on legislators...

  • This Side of the Pond

    Sarah Pridgeon|Nov 21, 2019

Bickering politicians is a simple fact of life, but sometimes what they’re arguing about really makes you think. I found myself thoroughly baffled this week to discover that my home county’s council is discussing the idea of making Dorset a national park. As far as I can tell (and I have done as much research as can reasonably be expected, which includes but is not limited to a quick glance at Wikipedia) this national park would encompass the entire southern portion of the county and a chu...
