    The 7th grade volleyball team won their District Tournament on Friday, October 16 in Moorcroft. The team beat Upton in their first game 25-6 and 25-16. For the championship, they played against Wright in an intense game. The girls fought hard and ultimately ended up winning after three close sets: 25-23, 23-25, and 15-10.     The Upton-Sundance Patriots added another win to their column this past week as they dominated the Glenrock Herders in a 61-8 victory. Opening up the game on defense, the Patriots wasted no time in shutting down the Herders’ quick pitch offense, forcing a turnover on downs on the opening drive.     The Sundance High School Cross Country team celebrated a successful conference meet in Hulett on Friday, Oct. 16. Senior Bulldog runner Hunter Skeens claimed the first-place title in a time of 17:29. “It was a great race and it was a good course to help prepare for state.     The 2020 Sundance Bulldog eighth grade volleyball season began its season with the pandemic threatening to stall the season at any time. Due to COVID restrictions, the team’s schedule was watered down and temperature taking and mask wearing became the new norm.     Crook County today recorded its first death due to COVID-19. Crook County Public Health issued the following statement: "[An] older adult Crook County man who died late last month in another state where he was likely exposed to the virus. It is unclear whether the man was hospitalized; he was known to have health conditions recognized as putting patients at higher risk of serious illness related to COVID-19. This individual was not previously recognized in Crook County COVID-19 counts. Our deepest sympathies to his family and friends."...
