A new economic development committee for Sundance was formed last week to operate under the umbrella of the city. Created to both support existing business and encourage new economic opportunities, the committee was suggested by a group of interested citizens and given the blessing of the Sundance City Council. No arrests have yet been made following a “suspicious shooting” that took place in Hulett at the end of August. The investigation is ongoing, says Louey Williams, Team Leader for the Northeast Enforcement Team of the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI). With the help of Senator Ogden Driskill, the City of Sundance will try one last time to sidestep repayment of $225,000 in emergency funding that it was granted by FEMA in 2012 to relocate the Cole Water Tank when it began to slide off the hill. Two property owners who have failed to respond to the city’s nuisance letters are to be told that the clock is now ticking on their clean-up efforts. Margaret (French) Wales, 97 of Beulah, Wyoming, passed away on September 5, 2019, at Crook County Memorial Hospital in Sundance, Wyoming. Margaret was born March 14, 1922, to Thomas and Nellie (Knight) French in Hertford, England. At the age of 14 Margaret went to work as a nanny and maid, she also helped her older sister take care of her siblings. She was born April 5, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Richard Streeter and Mae Rose Stieb. She grew up in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and graduated from Fond du Lac Senior High. She married Richard J. At last week’s regular meeting, the Sundance City Council heard progress reports for several ongoing projects.
