    CASPER — In the first judicial test of Wyoming’s new “stand your ground” law, a Natrona County judge on Friday dismissed a first-degree murder case, but implored prosecutors to appeal to the state’s highest court. Judge Catherine Wilking handed down the ruling following a two-and-a-half-hour hearing, the bulk of which she ruled was required by the new law.     SHS Boys vs. TR: 55-29 The Sundance girls basketball team defeated the Tongue River Eagles 55-29 on Friday, February 1. With this victory, the Lady Bulldogs improved their overall record to 7-9. Keeping control of the boards, the Bulldogs were able to pull down 35 rebounds as a team. Leading the effort were Madison Gill and Teddi Marchant, pulling down a combined 18 rebounds.     The Sundance wrestlers participated in the 24 team Belle Fourche Wrestling Invitational on January 25 and 26. Due to sickness and injuries only 6 of the 10 team members participated. Placing for the Bulldogs was Owen Haiar at 120 lbs. (6th place) going 4-3 on both days. Also placing was Gavin Robinson at 195 lbs. going 3-2 on the two days for 7th place.     On January 31, the Sundance fifth grade held the fourth annual Paper Football Championships. Students competed head to head in a 35-person, single-elimination bracket, to crown the champion. In front of a capacity crowd, littered with current Hall of Famers, nerves were at an all-time high. Each student was able to practice throughout the month in anticipation for the illustrious event.
