PINEDALE — Although county and state attorneys argued veterinarian Rex F. Rammell’s appeal in 9th District Court of four brand-inspection convictions and sentences was untimely and improper, the judge disagreed.  In Sublette County’s possibly longest-running misdemeanor case, Rammell was charged on June 27, 2019, with violating the state required brand-inspection law by trailering four horses and a colt from Sweetwater County to Sublette County for summer grazing.  The law is Wyoming Statute 11-21-103, which Rammell has argued as...

Joy Ufford, Sublette Examiner Via Wyoming News Exchange|Mar 19, 2020

PINEDALE – Far from our state lines, people celebrate the fact that Wyoming was the first in the nation to pass its Food Freedom Act – five years ago this month.  Added to that is the recent successful passage of Wyoming House Bill 84, “Food Freedom Amendments” to become House Enrolled Act 43 and a newly amended state law after Gov. Mark Gordon’s signature on March 12 in Cheyenne.  “The purpose of the Wyoming Food Freedom Act is to allow for a producer’s production and sale of homemade food or drink products for an informed end...

  • Homeowners try to lease mineral lands beneath home

Joy Ufford, Sublette Examiner Via Wyoming News Exchange|Dec 12, 2019

PINEDALE — After two harrowing rounds of state lease auctions that invited bids for the mineral estates under their home beside the New Fork River, a local couple is applying for the 240-acre lease in the state’s “over the counter” option. Applying for an unsold Office of State Lands and Investments’ lease “over the counter” falls in a time period after two unsuccessful auctions. Homeowners Jan Allen and Mike McFarland, who live next to the New Fork River, took this route after a July lease sale and another in November brought no...
